This week, I attended two Watch Parties: the first was the All-Amazon Global Meeting, and the second was our team’s! One thing that stood out to me was “We ensure Amazonians hear from us first.” Being a large company, there are always a lot of rumors and gossip on the internet and social media, but in these two meetings, we received direct answers and responses. I think this kind of company culture is quite good. I was even surprised at first that such issues could be discussed openly 😳 This is very different from the culture in Taiwan, where most sensitive topics are not dared to be discussed.
- Writing is an essential skill at Amazon
It’s the third week of my internship, and I have just completed the high-level design doc, preparing to move toward the low-level design. The entire document-writing process has helped me understand customer pain points, project requirements, and conduct in-depth research on internal products and technologies. Before joining the company, I didn’t understand why people often said they could spend weeks writing documents. Once I started, I realized that besides the basic content, I also needed to consider scalability, project maintenance, long-term use, feasibility, and reliability…
